Think about it. This way can boost development. Boosted development -> better game -> more content -> more releases -> more sales -> ... -> profit!

No? They made it, their doing awesome at it, they should profit off of it.
THAT said, they SHOULD in my opinion, implement player supported modding. That would be great, because then theres no financial losses on their part, and we players can add in whatever content we want with the addition of mods, since its a single player game, its even easier to implement with out debugging issues caused by mods in a MP environment.
