Taking control of derelicts

If there is a way to take control of derelicts I can't figure it out. It would be nice to be able to repair and claim them. Right now in scenario 2 my crew don't even have the skill to construct a hyperdrive so salvaging a derelict with one and adding onto it from there would be ideal.

There is a way to give them skill by using Notepad+ and opening up the "Game" file in your save game file.

Not currently possible but if we can make it happen while keeping the balance in the game at a good level we could implement it in the future!
