First experince with Battlestation: Harbinger

#1

First thanks of all to the team and Admiral Geezer for letting me try this.

First I ever heard of Battlestation: Harbinger was on kickstarter where I had no doubt to kick it.
So what happend? I got to play some over the weekend and as hard the learning curve is the fun is still there. Im still amazed of the sprite and exploding pixels. I still have problems figuring out how to complete some quests as there is no tool tip. The area remains green without explanation. Today I had to go to the hospital. While waiting there i spent some time... Need to say I dont hope anyone tried to contact me later.

@Hofstad. Welcome, Commander! So awesome that you found us through Kickstarter. Glad to have you on board.

Yeah, as a person that recently jumped on board, I have to say you summed it up well. Learning the basics of the game required a little bit of trial and error, but nothing too crazy.

If I could make a small suggestion, maybe consider revamping the tutorial a bit. It gives you the absolute minimum knowledge needed to play, but doesn't do so well in explaining some of the more "complex" mechanics of the game. It might also pay to have the tutorial offer some suggestions on things to do as a new player, like "It might be a good idea to equip your ships with XXXX first" or "Since missiles ignore your shields, it is important to equip point defense."

Yeah the tutorial could be better for sure. We try our best to make the game such that it is intuitive, and tells you what is going on. Tutorials have to be scripted a little bit, so they take some time to make for that reason. Hopefully we can manage to make it better at some point here soon.

Hey, the tutorial is actually pretty ok, but it just leaves a lot of little details out.
