Battlevoid: Harbinger Feature Requests

Well, yes, but you never have to choose between fighters and guns. My only point is, when it comes to gunfire, I would almost never put found weaponry above energy or projectile cannons.

I'd love to see rare weaponry have the unequivocal advantages that 'rare' weapons usually see in games. The shield-drain laser and energy gatling are two of the only examples I know of truly irreplacable unique properties in rare weapons, but they're unfortunatley not big improvements over basic weaponry, despite being undeniably cool and unique.

Also . . . a big expansion of small guns, including rare and unique small guns, would be nice.

Recently played through the game in a few days and I have a few suggestions. Apologies if they have already been mentioned.

- I would like a reason to continue using older ship models. As it stands right now, there is nearly no reason to go back to older ship models. With the ships that are currently in the game I would give the cheaper ones significantly more speed and maybe a modifier that affects enemy accuracy, giving them a chance to evade rather than absorb damage. All ships should be viable options, not just the latest one that you unlocked.

- fixed firing arcs for some weapons. Having all of your main weapons able to turn 360 is too powerful and offers little incentive to strategically place your ships. Some 360 point defence spots would be nice too, and a way to view available firing arcs. This feature would also go wonderfully with asymmetrical ships.

- I know that this one has been mentioned but a greater variety of weapons would be nice. If some ships were faster then the short range weapons would be more viable, and more deadly to the enemy

- I'd like a means to build space stations at strategic locations

- A full on skirmish mode where controlling planets actually matters, not just racing to the next sector

- I got impatient with the ships unlocking slowly from normal gameplay so I found a way to take a shortcut; starting a game on hard and dying immediately grants around 1000 experience and takes less than minute. A game lasting an hour or two only grants around 3000 experience in my experience.

- more mission variety, that's probably already been recommended. Also for escort missions it would be wonderful if the ship to protect is close to where you jump in or at least temporarily invulnerable to at least give you a chance to protect it.

- maybe a means to convert money to experience. After a certain point you have too much money and too little experience.

- the different races are not unique enough. I noticed that one of them had a little more hull than the others but that was about it.

It would be interesting if the fixed stats on a ship could be upgraded slightly, and at a high cost. Hull, shield, speed, turning and armour. I'd like for an armour stat to be added that can reduce the damage taken by all weapons except for energy weapons by a fixed amount but never completely negate the damage. Each side of the ship would have a different armour value with the highest probably being on the front or sides, maybe rear on a carrier. This would also add another strategic aspect to the game.

Overall I really just want to see more strategy in what you call a RTS game. As it stands right now the only strategy is to have stronger ships than the enemy and charge right in.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

My ideas

Make so that missiles do not bypass shield, but increase their damage a bit , maybe make them do same damage to shields and hull.I guess you tried to make something like rockets and mines in FTL? but in FTL you have very limited amount of rockets and you cant just spam them so:

Lets add blue slot "torpedo bay"
Lets say it costs 500 scrap and you have 5 charges, to use it you must select enemy and click on Torpedo icon
After you used 5 torpedoes slot torpedo bay just disappears and you have to buy new one, or you can sell your current and buy new one, selling torpedo bay gives you 75% cost for each torpedo, so if you have 1 left you will get 75 scrap in return
Torpedoes have good HP and homing as missiles but has move speed of unupgraded nuke. You can use it across the map but because it will behave as current missile, enemy fighters can "catch" it or just shoot it down, so it would be nice limited "firepower boost" and maybe limit of 1 or 2 slots per ship, or maybe increase its cost , the more you want to install the more it will cost , so you cant just spam them, or maybe make cost of 1000 scrap so it will cost you alot to spam torpedoes. And because you have to buy slot in order to recharge it you cant do it in combat, so if enemy destroyed all torpedoes - "gg noob, learn to clean path for torpedo" , i guess it will balance things.

Second idea - Science vessel
You can buy science vessel to fly with you, it has yellow triangle slot and very few blue slots for self defense
Into yellow slot you can install 3 modules 1) Bay research 2) Defense research 3) Offence research
When you install it , every, lets say, 3 turn you get random buff or new weapon for this category you can buy and install into your ship, without any special visits to stations , just with scrap (as in original Battlestation)

I'd like it if a setting was added which automatically paused upon entering a sector, so you can more accurately aim your first salvo, and see what's going on before making any actions

It will be nice debugging or sandbox style option but it wont give you exp, you can spawn things aka npc,items,etc...

And a type of fighter that has no weapon but will attach to enemy ships which has a chance to shutting down weapons, shields, engines for 15seconds more or less depending on balance

1) Can we have an infinite mode? Sometimes I'll get to the end and want to keep going with the ships I have, but that isn't possible
2) Ship unlocks. Can some ships be unlocked through the completion of goals (like FTL). It would add another objective other than get to the end, and you wouldn't be able to cheat it by dieing in hard mode to gain xp
3) Games affect future games. I mean things like you can find your past ships wreckage and maybe some gear, or if you still had secondary ships they will become Mercs and use the weapons they had, or when you sell an item to a station it may show up for purchase at a station in a future game

Arc of weapons too

Editors so we can make our own maps, storylines, goals for others to play it. It would add replay value and alomst unlimited quests, or single missions.

Hi! Is it possible to add in a "slow motion feature/effect" while battling with enemies Like maybe a slow mo button. I find it hard to see whats happening in the environment, with all these explosions, drones, asteroids, etc. all over the place. And I want to critically see what my weapons are targeting or what my enemy is shooting, if you know what I mean.
Especially when battling with like 5 enemies, its frustrating to see these ships and/or battlestations on top of each other with all the shootings everywhere and the last thing you know it's Game Over haha *Thats what happened to me at the very last mission. I was so confident that I could actually beat the "Unknowns"*.

or at least a slow mo effect at the last few seconds before my ship or enemy's ship explodes. I think that would be an amazing effect!

Commanders! What do you think? Who's with me?

Can there be an information tab on all the turrets? (Starts filled or only shown once found) I want to know how weapons compare, sometimes it's hard to tell mid game
