Battlestation: Harbinger Content Update Kickstarter

Totally backing krells idea on the planetside missions. Even sending drones to survey the jump point planets.

Survey drones. I like the idea of also ship buildability. Making ships have upgreadable engines as well as upgradeable tech. Perhaps ships have hidden slots that unlock as you put the right scrap and green points into to unlock Jew slots. Tons of great ideas here but that planetside option would be a great way to explain the games lore on the aspect of how the trog went nuts. Even enabling for future iterations of the series about how colony planets were established.

Can't edit posts still so annoying. Anyway another thing to look at which I feel is EXTREMELY important is to build into the game a LORE system. So basically something that describes weapons, ships, based status, storyline pieces gathered, things of this nature. That's seriously important because I feel it can be a fun aspect of collecting weapons to just breakdown for another achievement by piecing together the weapons descriptions and game lore.

Also helps for figuring out what weapons to use.

If possible add in multiple save slots. Say I wanna start a game match but my daughter wants to play on my phone. Why not allow save slots to enable extra gamemode play. Of course keeping the permadeath system in place for those saves.

Hi there from an addict!

First, you should implement everything you have already done for First Contact!
-Crew assignment: I would like to know more about what the crew actually does though. FC is not very clear about hangar and weapons crew.
Tops would be some kind of officer school where you can specialise and enhance your crew (navigators, gunners, pilots...). This would add some RPG flavour.
-Science: develop new techs to strengthen/enhance weapons, drones, crew etc. to suit your style of play better
-Drone management: That was pretty good. Settings for piloting, targeting etc. Would help a lot. Also drone wings should be more easily distinguishable for easier handling. Assign each wing a colour.

Second:
-Weapon targeting: At the moment especially the point defense is firing at random (my feeling). I believe this is also the reason why they seem to be ineffective at times. Each turret should have a detailed target setting. Fighters, Capital ships, incoming missiles etc.
Also the firing arcs of point defense need some tweaking. Forward turrets are NOT firing forward...
-Stations: Purchasing weapons, upgrading stuff - great ideas. Stations should be more resillient though. Currently they are gone faster than my ship...
-Terrain: Asteroids are a must have! Beware of debris on colission course though! Need some beef to clear your path...
-Story/Missions/Info: A little more story and different missions would be great (and IMHO needed for a good, long-term motivating PC version!). I would like to see some more info on the enemy ships, too. Race, loadout, fighter qty. Maybe even weak points after you have done some fights agains them.
That brings to mind -sensor systems -electronic warfare
The PC vbersion also needs and endless mode or second playthrough. Don't like my hard earned ships enter Nirvana afer 3 systems.
Maybe add a Hall of Fame/Museum displaying the most successfull ships, including load out, kill rates etc.

General:
I believe the game is already pretty solid as is. Some balancing here and there -ok.
The content update is always prone of feature creep.
You see a lot of things here that sound good but I am not sure they would work out well in the game (mines for example). Ultimately, trying to put in everything could mean disaster. Creating solid fallbacks can prevent heading into a dead end.
If you go to Steam have the choice to play the game -classic (as it is today) -enhanced (a solid variation with some general tweaks balancing and story) -experimental.
Could be similar to FTL where you can activate the enhanced version when starting a new game.

Those are my 50cents for now...

MultiPlayer function!

CUSTOMIZATION! Make it more personal...in very simple ways:

1. Name your ship/Fleet

2. Choose COLOR of ships

I'm so happy to hear about such a huge update on the horizon! As far as my suggestions go...

Pretty much all of the ships are super slow. Maybe add the option to buy upgraded engines?

Would it be too difficult to have the option of leaving ships at different sectors? This way you could more effectively control the spacemap to cut off the enemy.

Lastly, (for now), what about having a system where the different modules on your ships can get damaged and thus stop functioning until repaired?

Keep up the great work guys. I'll definitely be supporting this kickstarter.

I would like to see a way to mod the game. add my own ship designs would be great. or get a way to add StarBlazers as a franchise to the game. Nothing like the Yamato to make old school kids like me happy.

The PC version needs awesome music!
I really love dark atmospheric music with this kind of games. You should try to ask Simon Heath (Atrium Carceri/Sabled Sun) of cryochamberlabel.com for a couple of great tunes!

Commanders. We are really humbled by all of your ideas. It's great to see such interest in Harbinger and Battlestation! We've been a bit quiet lately but it is only because we've been working hard on creating the Kickstarter campaign. It is starting to be ready and we will launch next week!

You will see some epic stuff so stay tuned, we will blast the message out once the campaign is live. Let's make the campaign soar through together Smile

Until next week, commanders! Oh, keep the suggestions coming.
